Today, Dee’s legacy lives on through The Dee Howard Foundation and The University of Texas at San Antonio through an endowment established by his children, Dee Ann Bridges and Lonnie Dean Howard. The Dee Howard Foundation also established The Dee Howard Foundation Endowed Scholarship, which assists first-generation college students and students from underserved communities advance their STEM-related undergraduate studies in the UTSA College of Engineering.
The Dee Howard Foundation Endowed Scholarship in Mechanical Engineering will be for students who participated in The Dee Howard Foundation Pre-K through 12 Program; students who attended a school where The Dee Howard program was available; and students who attended a school district where the program is/was available. The scholarship will help those students that are First-Generation students in their families.
