Apr 2023 – Dr. Kapoor was awarded the President’s Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award in Research Achievement.

Mar 2023 – Our lab received a grant form Office of Naval Research to study temporal succession of microbial communities on Navy-relevant metals. Congratulations to the team!

Dec 2022 – Sina successfully defended his PhD thesis. Congratulations!

Nov 2022 – Haya successfully defended her PhD thesis and Mauricio successfully defended his MS thesis. Congratulations to both!

Nov 2022 – Our group is part of a $1M grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), to establish the #EcoJEDI (justice, equity, diversity and inclusion) program, a citywide collaboration facilitating career readiness in food and agriculture sciences. Read here.

Sep 2022 – Dr. Kapoor has been promoted to Associate Professor (with tenure) and named the Margie and Bill Klesse Endowed Professor.

Apr 2022 – Dr. Kapoor was selected as an honoree of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES) 40 Under 40 Recognition Program.

April 9, 2018 – Huge Kudos to my MS advisee Jessica Hinojosa for securing second place in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition. Ms. Hinojosa competed against over 75 UTSA Master’s and Doctoral students. Well done Jessica!
