The Office of the Vice President for Research has awarded $200,000 to UTSA researchers and their collaborators through its Collaborative Research Seed Grant Program (CRSGP) and its Tenure-track Research Award Competition (TRAC) program. The funding programs help UTSA faculty establish new, innovative, collaborative and multidisciplinary research programs in one or more of UTSA’s five strategic areas of excellence: health, security, energy and the environment, human and social development, and sustainability.
The following proposals from researchers in the College of Engineering, contingent upon this next year’s funding, will receive 2012-2013 seed grant money:
FY 2012-2013 Collaborative Research Seed Grant Winners
AWARD TOTAL: UP TO $30,000/PROJECT
- Fully integrated nano-biochip for rapid and point of care medical diagnosis
FY 2012-2013 Tenure-Track Research Award Competition
AWARD MAXIMUM: $22,000/PROJECT
- Foundation protection of offshore renewable energy infrastructures: A computational approach toward sustainability and resilience
