JOB TITLE: Project Management Intern
PAY GRADE: No Grade (Min: $7.25/hour)
TIME COMMITMENT: 15-20 hours per week
Provides assistance to the Project Management department in researching,
interviewing, recording, communicating, and developing a project management
process manual that details the use of all project management tools; i.e. project filing,
time keeping, budgeting, contract and invoice routings, project financials, etc.
Works under the general supervision of the Project Management Administrator and
Projects and Planning Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in coordinating and reporting on the status of the project management
process manual to Project Management, Finance, Information Technology, and the
Director of Support Services.
Assists in collecting current project management practices within the organization;
i.e. how are documents filed, financials tracked, time kept, contract and invoices
Assists with conducting meetings with project managers to receive feedback and
communicate recommendations for defining set project management processes.
Assist with the development of a SARA project management process manual.
May assist other departments with projects as requested and approved by
Assists in supporting all programs and projects related to the Project Management
Represents the River Authority in a professional manner, as needed to promote its
mission and purpose.
Performs any other duties as required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS REQUIRED
High School Diploma or G.E.D. with at least 60 semester hours from an accredited
college or university.
Must have knowledge of policies and standards, methodologies, and processes
involved in project management or related field.
Must be well organized and manage time efficiently.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Must have the ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple projects
Follows all safety rules and regulations when performing work duties remembering
safety is first and will not be disregarded for speed or ease.
Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the
general public and fellow employees.
Must have and maintain a valid driver license and maintain an insurable driving
Work is performed in an office environment. Must be able to sit at desk for extended
periods of time and intermittently walk, stand, climb, balance, bend, crouch, and
reach while performing office duties.
Must be able to collaborate with staff in reaching the department goals and
Regularly and safely lifts, carries, and handles supplies and equipment weighing at
least twenty (20) pounds. Occasionally lifts and carries up to 20 pounds
approximately 15 feet.
Must be able to perform in a small but highly professional team oriented environment.
