The College of Engineering and the College of Sciences are coming together to bring Materials Research Day @ UTSA to campus Monday, August 24, 2015. The event is aimed at promoting the development and use of materials in a variety of applications and, in particular, highlighting research that UTSA faculty and students are currently conducting in these areas.
“The two colleges are in the process of developing a multidisciplinary graduate program in materials,” said Harry Millwater, associate dean of research and graduate studies in the College of Engineering. “We hope that this event will help to seed that project and provide a venue for relationship-building with other institutions of higher education as well as other private and public entities.”
There will be a total of nine guest scholars coming from universities around the US and national laboratories. The guest scholars will present on a variety of topics in the field of materials research. There will also be a student poster session where nearly 50 posters will be presented.
