Dr. Hai-Chao Han, professor in the College of Engineering Department of Mechanical Engineering, has been elected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers by his peers for his exemplary record of engineering achievements in education and research.
“I am honored to be elected as a fellow of ASME,” said Han. “I am grateful to my nominator and colleagues who have been very supportive over the years.”
Dr. Han is one of just 3 percent of over 90,000 ASME members worldwide to be elected an ASME Fellow signifying this distinct honor of recognition by one’s professional peers. According to the ASME, a fellow is one who has had 10 or more years of active practice and at least 10 years of active corporate membership in ASME. Han joined ASME in 1996 and has been at UTSA since 2003.
