What We Do

The Center of Excellence for Engineering Education (CE3) provides a holistic approach to improve the quality of education in the College of Engineering at The University of Texas at San Antonio. The Center will improve the retention, graduation rates, marketability, and preparedness of the students in the College. Workshops for writing and problem solving skills, resources for internship opportunities, tutoring and gate keeper courses, FE exam preparation, and career advising are all examples of the activities on hand at the Center. The Center also facilitates sequential internships in local industries as part of student development.

Students are not the only ones in our College who benefit from the CE3. Faculty can attend workshops on teaching effectiveness and curriculum development, participate in educational research projects, and give seminars on global issues, engineering ethics, and professionalism. The Center also provides resources for the academic assessments needed for ABET accreditation.

Our Mission

The mission of the CE3 is to promote and improve the learning of various engineering fields, enhance academic performance, promote life-long learning, and train the next generation of the finest engineers. The Center implements strategies in order to improve retention and graduation in the College of Engineering. It also provides an environment for faculty to perform educational research and to disseminate the results of such research activity.
