Graduation The degree of Doctor of Philosophy is awarded by the Board of Regents upon the satisfactory completion of a prescribed program of study as documented by the COGS/GSC, recommendation of the Graduate Faculty Council/Graduate Council, and certification of the candidate by the Dean and President to the Board of Regents. Students must meet with the Program Director and Chairman of the COGS/GSC to receive approval before applying for graduation. Failure to receive Program Director and COGS approval may delay the student's graduation.
