Areas of Research Interest:

  • Cardiovascular Imaging Physics-Magnetic resonance imaging of coronary flow and flow reserve, regional myocardial blood volume, myocardial perfusion, and vascular imaging agents - especially with regard to implications for the diabetic patient.
  • Clinical Imaging Equipment Quality Control-Procedures and programs for clinical MRI quality control and acceptance testing; development of standards and MRI phantom for quality control and accreditation.
  • Radiation Safety in Diagnostic Radiology-Reference Values for Patient Doses in Diagnostic Radiology - Patient Doses in CT Imaging. Methods for estimating dose for x-ray angiographic and cardiological imaging equipment.
  • In-vivo Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy-P-31 myocardial MRS in a canine model of acute coronary occlusion and reperfusion; also H-1 & P-31 brain MRS in a feline model of blunt force trauma.
  • Novel MRI Methods-multiple quantum coherence imaging, parallel MRI
