Areas of Research Interest:Stem cell based angiogenesis and myogenesis Dr. Bailey is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Board of Medical Examiners, and he holds subspecialty board certification in Cardiovascular disease and Interventional cardiology. Dr. Bailey is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and the Society for Catheterization and Intervention. He is currently the Janey Briscoe Distinguished Professor Medicine and Director of the Janey Briscoe Center of Excellence for Cardiovascular Research. He is the Director of the Cardiac Catherization Laboratory and serves as the Faculty Advisor for cardiology fellows, Medical Residents medical students and biomedical engineering students. He also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of American Heart Journal and Catherization and Cardiovascular Intervention and reviewer for several journals including Circulation and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. His translational research includes Nanosynthesized metals and new implantable medical devices. He has published manuscripts in Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Journal, Archives of Internal Medicine, Catheterization and Cardiovascular Intervention and Chest. He is a member of many professional organizations, including American Heart Association-Texas Affiliate and National Chapter, American College of Cardiology, and is on the Board of Directors for the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. Dr. Bailey has been listed in Best Doctors in America and National Register's Who's Who in Executives & Professionals.
