Educational Objectives
The educational objectives of the Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department are to support the training of future scholars in pursuit of new biomedical engineering approaches and understanding of biomedical knowledge associated with the diagnosis and treatment of human diseases. Specifically, the Departmental educational objectives are:- To provide students with an unique BME education, emphasizing on the combination of engineering and medicine. This unique emphasis allows students to understand and address real-life health issues through applied biomedical engineering. This is done in conjunction with faculty at UTSA, UTHSCSA, and other research institutions in San Antonio.
- To provide students with biomedical engineering research opportunities that will be of significant benefit to the San Antonio and South Texas technical and business communities.
